When it first arrived at my office it got passed around and around - everybody wanted to see it.
I was actually looking for the DVD of the local PBS presentation about Eddie Shore and the Springfield Indians. I was really disappointed that I couldn't find it but it turned out well because this book is a real g|About the Author|Jim Mancuso, a member of the Society for International Hockey Research, has also authored and coauthored several other books on minor-league hockey, including Hockey in Syracuse.

Springfield has a dynamic hockey history that dates back 80 years, beginning with the Springfield Indians. One of the first professional hockey teams in the United States, the Indians were an inaugural member of the Canadian-American Hockey League. The Indians helped form the American Hockey League, where Springfield won seven Calder Cups, including a record three in a row from 1960 through 1962.
