Would have been helpful to update equipment related to caving and more detail and research on what is best and where to get it...such as ...I have tried these things and a few worked well and here is where you can locate them. A very readable, yet thorough manual for beginning cavers. Detailed discussions with photographs and diagrams acquaint the reader with lighting systems, helmets, clothing, and other caving equipment for both the horizontal and vertical caver. Also, there are chapters on the geology and biology of cave systems. Throughout the book, emphasis is placed on cave conservation and safety.
